Health Information Management (HIM) Specialist I

Location: Atlanta, GA | 100% Onsite Pay: $24/hr Employment Type: Temporary

Join a leading medical device company specializing in orthopedic solutions that help patients recover from injury and improve mobility. We're seeking a detail-oriented HIM Specialist I to support medical records, documentation, and billing operations.

What You'll Do

• Obtain, review, scan, index, and organize patient medical records and supporting documentation.
• Navigate EMR systems to retrieve missing information needed for clean claim submission.
• Verify patient information and ensure documentation is accurate and complete.
• Perform pre-scan validation of claims and supporting records.
• Maintain strict HIPAA compliance when handling protected health information.
• Support medical billing, claims processing, and document management.
• Meet established productivity, accuracy, and processing goals.

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical records, HIM, healthcare, or medical billing experience preferred.
• Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and navigating patient records.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT and ICD-10 codes is a plus.
• Strong computer skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel, web-based applications, and scanning systems.
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, accuracy, and follow-through.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment while maintaining confidentiality.
