The Solar Installer will perform a wide variety of operational duties. The ideal candidate will have prior experience residential solar installations. The ideal candidate will be motivated, dedicated, and a team player. In addition, the ideal candidate will have high attention to detail and a genuine care to his/her craftsmanship.Responsibilities:Complete roof installation on various roof types, as well as ground mountsEnsure proper job documentation is completed once the job installation concludesInteract with customers - answer and direct questions as neededIdentify, communicate, and resolve plumbing, electrical, environmental, or safety hazards associated with solar thermal installationsRead and review blueprints and plan documentsInstall racking systems and modulesRun conduit and wiring on roofsApply weather seal, such as pipe flashings and sealants, to roof penetrations and structural devicesTest operation or functionality of mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and control systemsInstall copper or plastic plumbing using pipes, fittings, pipe cutters, acetylene torches, solder, wire brushes, sand cloths, flux, plastic pipe cleaners, or plastic glueConfigure electrical wiring of the solar system (AC and DC)Other tasks and duties as neededQualifications:Previous experience utilizing power and hand tools requiredPrevious experience with solar PV installation, roofing, or general construction is requiredHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED) requiredPreferred Qualifications:Strong attention to detail a mustGood problem-solving skillsAbility to prioritize work and work under sensitive time restraintsExceptional customer service and verbal communication skillsPhysical Requirements:Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standardsAbility to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standardsMust be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of timeMust be able to talk, listen, and speak clearly on telephoneMust be able to climb ladders and stairs regularly, and be comfortable with heights of at least 20 feet and walking on all roof typesAble to work in various weather conditions and in extreme temperaturesAbility to lift 50+ pounds regularlyPay Rate : $16- $24 per hr.
